Jun 7, 2018

When it comes to making changes to your Isle of Wight home, security should always be a major part of any decision you make. Nowhere is this more obvious than when it comes to selecting your windows and doors. Obvious entry points into your home, windows and doors need to be as secure as possible, whilst of course still providing the look and styling you desire. Thankfully, most modern doors and windows now feature a strong level of security; be it through the use of modern materials or cutting-edge design. However, like any product, there are good ones and there are better ones. Therefore, when it comes to choosing the best, how can you tell? To help with this, various seals of approval have been created that enable you quickly identify which products have been thoroughly tested and approved. Offering a wide selection of secure windows and doors at Coastline Home Improvements, we have highlighted perhaps the three most well known and respected of these for you below:

British Standard

One of the first and most respected seals of approval, the British Standard kitemark has become a byword for quality. Respected all over the world, this small symbol is a clear indication of a product’s quality and worthiness. Ranging from 1 star to 3 stars – the highest- this symbol can provide homeowners with important reassurance.

Secured by Design

Created in partnership with various police forces from around the UK and the insurance industry, Secured by Design products are unique in that they have been designed from the very beginning with one aim – to make the product as secure as possible so as to prevent crime. Often featuring the very latest materials and design, products range from windows and doors to industrial buildings and public car parks.

Sold Secure

When it comes to offering incredible levels of security, the Sold Secure seal of approval has very few equals. Only awarded to products that pass the very strictest testing, the Sold Secure seal is provided by the Master Locksmith Association. Working with UK police forces and insurance companies, the Master Locksmith Association only awards this symbol to products featuring the very best levels of security.
